The light from fluorescent electro-luminescent foil reflects off the ground, walls, and buildings, providing excellent illumination in the dark. Useful for police, navy pilots, personal directing aircrafts on the ground at airports and on aircrafts carriers, and tunnel workers. Power consumption of the electro-luminescent is low, the foil itself is thin and easily bent, and cheap-the ideal characteristics for this application.
