加賀谷＆鳥山／SUDA-RAYは、自ら光を放つ、すだれ状の「まじきり」です。物体を照らし出す、あるいはそれ自体が見られる対象となる「照明器具」とは違った、新しいあかりのありようの提案でもあります。発光体は低発熱で電力効率の良いルミネッセンス樹脂を用い、それをアクリルパイプに充填します。

SUDA-RAY is a room partition that itself emits light. Its external appearance resembles a bamboo blind. It proposes a new approach to lighting that is different to a lighting apparatus that illuminates objects or becomes an object itself to be seen. A low calorific and power efficient electro-luminescent plastic is used for the illuminant which is filled inside acrylic pipes, which are joined together with cord acting as conducting wire to create an appearance of a bamboo blind.
