世界中のどんなインテリアでも、昔からその場所に存在していたかのようにとけこみ、生活する人々の心がやすらぎ、心豊かな暮らしができるデザインにすることを目的とした。1枚の正方形の紙に、日本伝統の繊細な折り目を生みだす折り紙の手法である山折り、谷折りを施し凸凹と、曲げをつくりだした。この1枚の正方形の紙からつくりだしたものは照明器具のパーツであり、そのパーツをインテリアに合わせ、生活する人々の好みの形へと自由自在にそして無限に変化できる照明器具ということで『MU∞GEN』という名前にした。
明かりをつけると映る影が、組み立て方によって変化するのも特徴である。

I intended to design this light so that it could make you feel peaceful and comfortable to live with, as if it had been there as an inseparable part of your space, though rarely noticed.
To a sheet of square paper I applied the delicate art of traditional 'Origami' --- the art of folding paper into various shapes, and created concave and convex folds and curved lines. This can be a part of any light fixture, which you can adjust to your interior designs and to your tastes, and change freely and limitlessly. That is why I named it "MU-GEN". 'Mugen' means 'No Limit'.
When you put the light on, the shadow it projects will change according to the way you compose it. This is also a characteristic of my design.
