The inspiration of the design is the essences of sunlight. To me, sunlight represents warmth, happiness, joyfulness, playfulness, and closeness and life. However, sometimes people take the sun for granted. People only miss the sunlight when it is scares. The concept is to create a light that captures the essences of sunlight into something that people can create a close relationship with. The design is going to be made with LED lights with silicone bubble rapped around them.
The bubble acts as a light diffuser for LED. On the silicone there will be slits, so when people hug or squeeze them, more lights can come through. The shape and material for the cover encourages people to touch, hold closse and bond. This pillow light is battery operated so people can bring it with them whenever they go. Silicone bubbles can be produced with silicone and blow molding. There should be about 5-8 white LED inside one bubble. The cover can be fabric that is soft to the touch and inviting. I would like to explore on combining fabric with fur, does not have to be real animal fur, to create this feeling.
