21 世紀、私たちはLED というエコで経済的な光源に移り変わろうとしています。 LED は消費電力も少なく、発熱も少なく、サイズも大変小さくなり、これからのあかりの歴史に無限の可能性を見いだした。 しかしLED に代わることで失われるモノもあるのではないか、それは電球などから感じられる暖かさ。 それは光源の色からなの
か・・・、発せられる熱からなのか・・・。 便利になる一方で、私たちがあかりに求めている大切なモノを失ってしまうのではないでしょうか？
そこで今回はLED を使用して、電球という、明かりを象徴する形を溶かした形をモチーフに照明をデザインしました。
照明は点いていると有機的に感じるが、明かりが点いていないと無機質に感じてしまう。 しかし、電球を溶かした形を使用することで、そこには非日常を感じることができ、明かりの有無に関係なく有機的に感じ、光と熱を視覚的にとらえることができる。
普段、当たり前のように電気を使用しているが、あかりの暖かさに触れて電気の大切さを知ってほしい。

The 21st century has seen a shift of light sources toward LED, which is more eco-friendly and more economical. However, there is something lost in this change. In exchange for mere convenience, we are losing something important, something light has bestowed on us. Is it the color or the feat bulbs emit? I think it is a warm
feeling the traditional bulb has given to you.
I designed a symbolic lamp with deformed, as if melted, bulb as its motif. Generally, lamps look organic when they are on, but when off they are inorganic. By the use of ‘melted’ bulb, however, you will feel something different from conventional everyday life, something organic even when the lamp is off.
I hope my lamp with its feeling of warmth would remind people of the preciousness of electricity.
