エコロジー思想に注目されている今、見直されるべきなのは紙の存在である。
古くて新しい素材、身近にありながら不思議な素材が紙だ。古くからわが国においては、障子やふすま、掛け軸や懐紙、灯篭に団扇など、さまざまなものに紙は使われ、愛されてきた。正月には紙と神をかけて祀り、正月飾りに欠かせないものとなっている。もとより豊かな自然に囲まれ、木とともに生活してきた日本は、紙の国なのだ。インターネット社会が到来しても、ペーパーレスには決してならない。紙の表情や風合いを愛する国民性は失われていない。日本人のあかりのありかは、紙という自然素材の中に秘められているということに着目し、今回の制作に至った。

Now we pay attention to 'Ecology', so we should reconsider about the material of the paper. It is the old but also the new material, it is the familiar but also the mysterious material, that is the paper.
In Japan, paper is used a lot of things, for example a shoji, a fusuma, a hanging picture, a napkin,a lantern, a round fan and so on, so we love of paper for old times. The New Year's day, the paper is deifi ed as the God, it cannot do without a paper for New Year's decora From the fi rst, we make a living with trees in Mother Nature, so Japan is the surely paper country.Though the internet becomes widespread, the paper is never lost. Usually, Japanese house is divided with a fusuma or a shoji, so we can use the room widely or small as occasion may demand. This comes from the sense of Japanese own which enjoys space freely. We can fi nd unexpected texture which opening or hanging.
We can make our own style with enjoying changing.
