LEDの特性を生かすために、良い点だけを抽出し、それをどう引き立てるかに重点を置きました。
そして、しぼりだした要素に「触れる」という行為を加え、新しい「触れるための照明」をつくりました。
LEDが登場するまでは、照明は触られることを目的としていませんでした。熱や脆さから触ることができなかったからです。しかし、LEDの特性により人が触ることが可能となりました。これによって、照明は新しい領域に踏み込んだと思います。

In order to make the most of LED, I put emphasis on drawing out only its good points and setting them off. Then I added to them the sense and action of touch. The heat and fragility of lighting equipments have prevented us from touching them. Now we have one intended to be touched on. The characteristics of LED have made it possible. I am sure my design has opened a new horizon.
