これは卓上ランプですが、その存在理由はユー
ザーとの相互作用にあります。すなわち、Crane
のヘッドが下がると消灯します。点灯するには、
ヘッドをそっと引っ張って内部にある磁石をス
チール製の脚から引き離すのです。するとヘッド
の短い部分の「釣り合いおもり」がヘッドを引き
上げます。ヘッドが水平になると、マイクロコント
ローラーがスイッチオンして点灯します。

Crane” is the task lamp whose raison d'etre is in its intuitive, even affective, user interface.
The lamp is switched on by releasing
its titled head from the foot and, conversely, switched off by gently pushing the head back down. When down, the head is held in place by a magnet which attaches to the steel base. When awakened, a counterweight in the back of the head pulls it up and a micro switch turns the light on when the reaches a level alignment.
