山口／最近のアウトドア用品は、いろいろなものに反射素材がつけられていますが、どれほど優れた素材でも、光源がなければ役に立ちません。そして、夜の山の中では、光などの無い、あるいは届かない場所がほとんどです。私自身のキャンプで困った経験からこの作品は生まれました。

Reflective materials are now being used in many outdoor products, including clothes, rucksacks, hats/caps and shoes. The problem is that they are totally useless without light, no matter how superior the material may be. In the mountains, it is usually extremely dark, and even if there is some kind of light the source is often so faraway that it hardly illuminates anything around you. My work is based on my personal experience.
