| 前回に比べて、「エコロジー」を自分なりに消化しようという工夫がみられた。このテーマの表現はどうしてもまじめになりがちなので、今後いっそうの楽しさ、華やかさを期待するという声も聞かれた。金賞に選ばれた「ATMOS」は、ダイオード、センサーなどのテクノロジーを駆使し、風の向きや大きさを感知してひかりに変える、という発想が新しい作品。パーソナルな照明器具にとどまらないスケールの大きさが評価される一方、どんな場所でいかに利用するかが想像しにくい、との評もあった。 |

When compared to the previous competition, improvements were seen when interpreting the term“ ecology”, successfully introducing it to a design in one’s own way. It was also heard that a sprit of enjoyment or even colorful expressions should be encouraged in the future, as the theme“ ecology” tends to make people think too seriously. The Gold Award winning work “ ATOMOS” was novel in that it is designed to convert the force and direction of the wind to energy-producing light by utilizing new technologies, including diodes and sensors. The design was highly evaluated for its extensive usability, featuring function beyond those of mere personal lighting equipment. However, at the same time, some of the judges did point out that it was difficult for them to think of a practical use for this design. |
