The overall tendency was that many designers focused on the effcient consumption of energy　or the recycling of resources. Much attention was paid to an innovative lighting design　for disabled people, in which luminescent wheels are used for wheelchairs. The Gold Award　went to“ CYCLOP”, with only a slim dierence in score from the Silver, and it was highly　praised for its ability to allow subtle motions and a high standard upon completion, although　it was not a novel design. After the Seventh Competition was over, it was determined by the　Competition committee that their focus should be shifted to the issue of how to achieve comfortable　environments for human being. Until then, the primary focus had been mainly on　searching for advanced technologies.
