全般的に、学生らしい想像力豊かでコンセプチュアルな作品が多かったが、テーマ性の希薄さや、デザインの完成度の低さが目立つ作品も散見された。金賞を受賞した「Or So Light of Chaperonage」は、デザイン性にやや難はあったものの、「地域間格差が現存する地球社会で光は平等である」というこの回のテーマの狙いをもっとも具現化していた点が注目を集めた。公共性だけでなく、使う人の美意識や使い方次第で遊び心や美しさも生まれる可能性を指摘する意見もあった。中国人初の金賞受賞となった。
Though many works were with student-like rich images and conceptual approach, some works with poor awareness on the theme and lower design perfection were found. However gold awarded“ Or So Light of Chaperonage” had a little short coming on design aspect, it attracted jury’s attention for its best embodiment of the point of the theme that light equally benefits everyone whereas regional disparity in many ways really exists in global society.
There were even some comments pointing out the potentiality that not only public nature but also playful mind and beauty may emerge. An entrant from China was first time awarded gold.
